The task consists of problems covering theoretical, conceptual, analytical, and interpretative questions based on all the material covered in the unit. The project tests students' ability to undertake an independent piece of quantitative analysis as a group using Python, to discuss and interpret software output and to communicate the results to a professional standard. Any use of Generative AI has to be acknowledged and described. The task is worth 30% of the unit mark, of which a third (10%) is the group's assessment of each student contribution. |
| Early Feedback Task | : EFT covers what students learned within the first three weeks; designed to be low-stakes, with minimal weighting and focuses on introductory unit concepts. The EFT has a dual purpose for students: offering personalised feedback on their grasp of the unit content before the census date and familiarising themselves with active participation in course materials, study strategies and assessments. The EFT also assists educators to identify and offer support to disengaged or at-risk students early in semester, and correct common misconceptions of introductory content. The EFT will be based on questions from Socrative quizzes conducted during class time. |
